Radio/Video/Alarm Support
GET personnel provide assistance in managing DOE radio frequency programs. This program includes reviewing Federal rules and regulations, assessing the impact and making implementation recommendations. GET staff members also perform intermodulation studies, assist in reviewing contractor telecommunications proposals, and provide recommendations on both. GET assists FIRMD in monitoring all frequency activities under the DOE Integrated Support Center’s (ISC-OR) purview to ensure frequency management compliance. Radio/Video Systems Support and Maintenance includes providing assistance to FIRMD for the maintenance and support of the DOE Oak Ridge Office Wide Area Radio System (WARS). This maintenance and support includes, but is not limited to, system infrastructure equipment, base stations, mobile units, hand held units, monitors, antennas, and all other related equipment. GET provides long-range planning and technical assistance for radio frequency management of the Emergency Operations Center’s related equipment. GET staff also performs installation, maintenance, and operation of alarms and security systems installed in facilities managed by DOE as well as Office of Secure Transport and Office of Scientific and Technical Information . This work includes, but is not limited to, installation and maintenance of alarms and related electronic circuits, access control systems, fire alarm circuits, and video monitoring systems.
